With the excitement of a new 007 movie coming out later this year, there are certain milestones along the way that build the anticipation of what will come later. One of those moments is the unveiling of posters and artwork for the film. It has been announced that some time later today the teaser poster will be revealed.
Following the announcement of the cast and film's title, the teaser poster is the next step of promotional material for a film. Subsequent events are the teaser preview, character posters, theatrical trailer, and the announcement of who will perform the title song.
The teaser poster, like the teaser trailer, usually doesn't provide much in the way of plot, but it is still an exciting day in the life of a Bond fan. Here are a few teaser posters from previous Daniel Craig-led 007 films.
Casino Royale
Quantum of Solace
Skyfall
Update: And the poster has been released to the Internet. Several websites are reporting the look, while very basic and giving away absolutely nothing, is a great throwback to Roger Moore in Live and Let Die. Like I mentioned before, teaser posters (and trailers) are exactly what they suggest to be, teases. Take a look for yourself.
Here is what Moore's turtleneck-wearing outfit looked like in his first outing as British super-spy James Bond.
The next milestone in the journey for Spectre to reach the big screen is the teaser trailer, which is slated to be shown March 28. At that time we will have a bit better idea what the next adventure 007 will be on to save queen and country.
