Sawyer, Joanna, and I have been home since Sunday afternoon. We registered and were in our room Thursday morning at 10 a.m. and didn't get in the car to leave until Sunday afternoon about 12:30. Spending that long in a sterilized room with nurses and doctors constantly interrupting any sleep Joanna was trying to get isn't an experience either of us would like to repeat again in the near future.
Joanna is doing great. It took only four pushes to bring Sawyer into this world, which was an incredible improvement over the two hours of pushing Jackson took. Sawyer is a tiny thing, but overall he is healthy. He came into this world at 5 pounds, two ounces. His length was 17 3/4 inches.
We are looking forward to a week at home welcoming our new addition to the family. Jackson has been incredible with his new baby brother. He kisses him on the head and is very gentle. Emery is a little more reserved with her feelings about the baby. I'm sure she will come around soon.
